COURSE OVERVIEW
Effective training starts before the main workout and continues after the session ends. How well a client prepares for movement, manages fatigue and recovers between sessions affects movement quality, performance and long-term participation in exercise.
Fundamentals of Movement Preparation and Recovery is a two-day practical course designed to help exercise professionals prepare clients for training, support physical recovery and build movement capacity for life.
Day 1 introduces the RAMP framework: Raise, Activate, Mobilise and Potentiate. Participants will learn how to assess movement readiness, improve mobility and stability, activate key muscle groups and prepare clients for the physical demands of training.
Day 2 focuses on the science and application of recovery. Participants will explore stretching flows, assisted stretching, PNF techniques, self-myofascial release, relaxation strategies and recovery programming.
Movement and longevity principles are integrated across both days through the Sitting-Rising Test, ground-to-stand transitions, centre-of-mass control, coordination activities and restorative floor postures. These practical tools help clients maintain confidence, mobility and independence as they age.
The course provides a complete training approach:
- Prepare the body before exercise.
- Improve movement quality during exercise.
- Support recovery after exercise.
- Maintain movement capacity between training sessions.
