The Science In Running – Your Body & Insight to Chi Running

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Science in Running – Your Body & Insight to ChiRunning is an immersive two-day program that bridges modern sport science with ancient movement principles to transform the way you run. Whether you’re a casual jogger, competitive athlete, or fitness professional, this course helps you discover how to run more efficiently, avoid injury, and develop a deeper understanding of your body’s mechanics.

The course centers on ChiRunning—a revolutionary approach to running that draws from Tai Chi, focusing on posture, core engagement, relaxation, and energy flow. Through hands-on workshops, movement drills, gait analysis, and corrective strategies, participants will learn how to harness gravitational force, reduce impact on joints, and achieve a smoother, more natural running experience.

The weekend is structured around practical learning. From your very first video gait analysis, you’ll uncover how your current form may be contributing to pain or inefficiency. As you dive into posture correction, ChiWalking, arm swing mechanics, and the concept of leading movement from your Dantian (core energy center), you’ll begin to rewire your running habits at a fundamental level. By day two, you’ll experience first-hand the difference between conventional running and ChiRunning, with improved form captured on video for comparison.

You’ll also gain foundational knowledge in sports science principles such as VO₂max, lactate threshold, and high-altitude training—giving you insight into how elite athletes optimize their performance.

By the end of the course, you won’t just understand how to run differently—you’ll feel it. You’ll walk away with practical tools to train smarter, recover better, and run stronger for life—well into your 70s and beyond.
