Build the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to work effectively with older adults.
Singapore has entered a super-aged phase, creating a growing need for exercise professionals who understand how ageing affects movement, physical capacity, health, cognition and exercise participation.
The ACE Senior Fitness Specialist Program provides an evidence-based framework for professionals who want to work more effectively with adults across the ageing spectrum. The programme explores exercise programming, assessment, behaviour change, age-related health considerations and cognitive health.
FIT Asia delivers the programme through a blended learning format combining ACE online learning with two days of face-to-face education. This gives you the flexibility to study the theory at your own pace, followed by practical application, discussion and localisation for exercise professionals working in Singapore.
WHY BECOME AN ACE SENIOR FITNESS SPECIALIST?
Working effectively with older adults requires more than adapting exercises or reducing intensity.
You need to understand how ageing affects strength, mobility, balance, cardiovascular fitness, cognition, confidence, motivation and health status. You also need the ability to assess each individual and translate those findings into appropriate exercise programmes.
Through the ACE Senior Fitness Specialist Program, you will develop knowledge in exercise programming, cognitive health and behaviour-change strategies while learning approaches designed to help older adults improve strength, function, vitality and independence.
