What's this course about?
The ACE Senior Fitness Specialist Course will allow you to develop the confidence and skills to design training programs catered to the needs of seniors with an understanding of the aging process and common medical conditions.
Learn how to design programs regarding cardiorespiratory training, strength training, balance and flexibility training for different levels of function: physically fit, physically independent, physically dependent and frail older adults. Receive in-depth training on strategies and movements; how to conduct meaningful assessments; how to create and develop effective exercise programs; and critical skills to be an effective professional working with this special population group.

*Please note: This ACE Specialist course is completed online. The 2-days tutorial is a preparatory offering to assist in your learning.

*Anyone who completes the program will get a certificate of completion, however only those who also hold a current NCCA-accredited certification (ie ACE CPT) or an equivalent professional credential will be recognized as a ACE Specialist and receive the Specialist Certification.

What’s in the curriculum?
This program covers a wide variety of topics to prepare you to safely and effectively work with active agers, and to understand the role fitness plays in the lives of the elderlies.
You will learn how exercise is central to restoring or maintaining functional independence and health in older adults, as well as how to work with clients both at the gym and in their home.
In addition, you will find out how to design programs that meet the needs of individual clients, from younger active agers to older seniors with specific movement needs.
The program also covers comprehensive exercise progressions for core, balance, lower and upper body strength, whole-body movements and effective stretching.
Alfred brings his wealth of experience to the team, having been in the industry for over 10 years. Apart from being a NSCA and ACE Certified Personal Trainer, he holds a Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sports Science) from Edith Cowan University. Alfred is also Exercise is Medicine Singapore certified as an Allied Healthcare and Fitness Professional and he is passionate working with the senior population. He is now part of the team, teaching our flagship Personal Trainer Development Program (PTDP).
